Season 11 details released (0)

Krusty Head BoxartJust when you thought I could go two whole years (or, more like a few weeks ;]) without updating the springfield connection, something that I have to write about pops up. And it's something that a lot of people have been waiting for for a long time!
The complete eleventh season on DVD is set for release on October 6 on these merry shores, a day earlier than our American chums who have to wait until October 7. The boxart has been a bit of a hot topic, too. After an Austrailian retailer revealed the new standard boxart - which looks a little dodgy, I have to say, and a bit uninspired too - FOX went ahead and officially revealed the new limited edition head artwork - as you can see in the image. However, they made no mention of the box, so could it have been a mockup? We'll have to see, but a fair few people aren't fans of the new style. One of the most common arguments is why Krusty is on the head, but Homer on the box? All of these questions will hopefully be sorted soon enough.
TV listings are set to be updated over the next few days, and I'm working hard to piece together an update for next week before I go away for a fortnight. I'm just struggling to find time between redesigning and rebuilding my personal blog, Thinktank.
Oh, and captcha has been added to the comments to beat the spam, which had reached an insane level. Test it ; ) Posted on 24 Jul 2008; by Andy

I am so smrt (4)

Just a small update this time around, again just to break the drought really. Expect more in the coming weeks, including some long-awaited additions to the Springfield page and just some general site maintenance.
So, what have I got for you? I've written a brand new editorial entitled 'Death of the Community; a post-apocalyptic view' - which may sound very doom and gloom, but in fact it isn't too bad ; ) I've just attempted to take a frank and correct look at the community in it's current state, and try and work out the reasoning behind the downfall of the once-great Simpsons website community. Have a gander at that on the editorials page - it's the bottom of the three.
This weekend on Sky One is one of the best episodes of recent seasons, season 18's 24 Minutes - a parody of the hit show 24.
No real other news worth noting, but keep voting on the poll to have your say on the show's end. Plus, keep commenting your favourite episodes on the episode guide! Posted on 01 Jul 2008; by Andy

I want to apologise (1)

This might surprise you - an update on the springfield connection! Shocking, I know. Sadly, it isn't anything particularly big or noteworthy, but I felt obliged to make some sort of post to explain why there's been a bit of a shortage over the last few weeks.
Basically, I made the last update just in the middle of my exams - and it was just before they really started to bite. So, I've had much more important things in the long run on my mind, and even though I knew I had to update this, I had to prioritise. And there could only ever be one winner, in reality. Work.
However, they're out of the way now, which paves the way for me to get some serious work done on the site. The Springfield page is high on my list of priorities, as it needs attention/additions, and I'm also aiming to write a few more tutorials aswell. As far as multimedia goes, my hands are pretty much tied. We are still looking for an enthusiastic grabpic artist who could allow us to update with more images, but clearly nobody exists.
There are just a few smaller things to mention - the recent run of new episodes on Sky One has stopped for the near future, with no word on when they return. And also, there's a new poll that'll let you throw your weight around on the topic of when the show should end. The old poll has been added to the booth page - long live Ralph!
